Frankfort Village Board Meeting | February 2, 2026
The Frankfort Village Board met on Monday, February 2, 2026, to conduct routine business and approve several land use and financial items. Mayor Keith Ogle led the meeting, with Trustee Jessica Petrow participating electronically due to employment travel. Trustee Adam Borrelli was absent. The board voted unanimously to approve a Consent Agenda that included the approval of bills, meeting minutes, and the ordinances regarding The Launch Pad Chicago and Pfeiffer Road.
During the meeting, Mayor Ogle highlighted several community events, including the recent “Fire & Ice” winter social, and announced the appointment of a new Fire Chief. The meeting concluded at approximately 6:20 p.m. following a motion by Trustee Gene Savaria.
Fire Chief Appointment:
Mayor Ogle congratulated Paul Kinsella on his official appointment as Fire Chief of the Frankfort Fire Protection District. Trustee Dan Rossi noted that Chief Kinsella’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Station 3 on LaGrange Road.
Village Bills Approved:
The board approved a schedule of bills totaling $1,120,228.96. Trustee Gene Savaria reported the breakdown, which included $473,353.30 in the General Corporate Fund and $406,018.60 in the Sewer & Water Extension Fund.
Chili Cook-Off Winners:
Mayor Ogle announced the winners of the annual “Fire & Ice” Chili Cook-Off held on January 31. In the amateur division, “Daddy’s Chili” took first place, followed by “Chili Con Carnage” and “Jack’s Chili.” In the restaurant division, Dancing Marlin won first place, followed by Fat Rosie’s in second and Trail’s Edge in third.
Frankfort Chop House Opens:
During his report, Mayor Ogle mentioned the soft opening of the highly anticipated Frankfort Chop House. He described the build-out as “gorgeous” and noted the food and service were wonderful, adding to the village’s dining options during the ongoing Restaurant Week.
Police Recruitment and Testing:
The village announced upcoming testing for entry-level police officers. Written testing will occur on Saturday, March 14. The Police Department is also hosting prep classes for interested applicants on February 7 and February 19 at Village Hall.
Country Market Applications:
Vendor applications are now open for the 2026 Frankfort Country Market season. The market will run from April 26 through October 25. Interested vendors can apply via the village website or at the administration building.
