Frankfort Village Board Meeting | June 1, 2026

The Frankfort Village Board moved through a short agenda Monday, June 1, 2026, enacting its business in a single unanimous consent agenda vote of 5-0, with Trustee Jessica Petrow absent. The board’s most significant actions were granting final approval to the Frankfort Pointe industrial and solar development at the village’s eastern edge (see full story) and adopting a resolution committing $555,000 in Motor Fuel Tax funds toward the Aberdeen Road bridge replacement (see full story). Mayor Keith Ogle’s report focused on the defeat of a state zoning measure and on a slate of summer events (see full story), and the meeting closed with public comment before the board adjourned to its committee of the whole. The next regular meeting is set for Monday, June 15.

Board Approves $604,453 in Bills

The board approved its bill list at a total of $604,453.21 across all funds, presented by Trustee Gene Savaria. According to the fund recap in the packet, the disbursements included $268,008.02 from the General Corporate Fund, $24,193.65 from the Capital Development Fund, $145,030.70 from the Sewer & Water Operation & Maintenance Fund and $167,220.84 from the Sewer & Water Extension Fund. The Motor Fuel Tax Fund had no disbursements on this list. The bills were approved as part of the consent agenda alongside the minutes of the board’s May 18 regular meeting.

Summer Events Fill Frankfort Calendar

Ogle recapped the village’s all-day “Kickoff to Summer” celebration held the day before, which featured a country market, a community business showcase, a Blues Brothers performance and the first downtown fireworks show, staged over Prairie Park. He previewed a full summer slate: weekly downtown cruise nights hosted with the Frankfort Car Club from 5 to 8 p.m.; “Fridays on the Green” with the Frankfort Public Library beginning June 5 at Breidert Green; the Frankfort Arts Association’s “Art on the Green” on June 7; “Movies on the Green,” opening June 9 with “Beauty and the Beast”; and a “Cone with a Cop” event June 11 at Rafy’s Candy Store, 21 S. White St.

Village Launches ‘America 250’ Beautification Awards

Tied to the semiquincentennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Ogle announced a summer beautification awards program encouraging residents to decorate porches in patriotic red, white and blue themes. Residents may nominate their own home or a neighbor by emailing the village by June 30. Selected homes will receive a commemorative “America 250” beautification award lawn sign, the mayor said.

EV Charging Firm Owner Introduces Business to Board

During public comment, the owner of an electric-vehicle charging company that builds DC fast chargers told the board he had recently relocated to the area and wished to introduce his business to Frankfort, asking to be connected with local commercial properties. He provided handouts to the board. The speaker did not state his name on the record. No board action was requested or taken.
