Frankfort Village Board Meeting | May 4, 2026

The Frankfort Village Board met on Monday, May 4, 2026, focusing heavily on honoring local champions and recognizing the 40-year career of retiring Village Administrator Rob Piscia. Following a round of emotional farewells and heartfelt thanks to Piscia, the Board moved through a consent agenda that approved new mural regulations, authorized a local subdivision, and granted a special use permit for a massage establishment.

Hickory Creek State Champions Honored
The Village Board welcomed athletes and coaches from Hickory Creek Middle School to celebrate two massive state championship victories. The Board issued a proclamation honoring the 7th Grade Girls Volleyball Team for earning the 2026 IESA Class 7-4A State Championship. The team, led by Coach Katie Roberts, achieved a perfect 20-0 season, securing their third consecutive state title and extending a 70-match winning streak. The Board also honored wrestler Kardiais Richardson for capturing the 2026 AA 126-pound IESA State Wrestling Championship with an undefeated 37-0 season under Coach Dominic Adamo.

Amigos Mexican Restaurant Liquor License
Acting in his capacity as Liquor Commissioner, Mayor Keith Ogle entertained a motion to amend Chapter 113 of the Village Code to increase the number of Class C-1 liquor licenses from nine to ten. The amendment accommodates the issuance of a license to Amigos Mexican Restaurant, located at 20831 S. LaGrange Road. The Board had previously granted the establishment a Special Use Permit for liquor sales on April 6, contingent upon interior remodeling to separate the bar from the dining area.

Krusemark’s Red Barn Subdivision
The Board passed multiple ordinances to approve the Krusemark’s Red Barn Subdivision, located on the south side of Sauk Trail at Sycamore Lane. The applicant, Albert H. Krusemark IV, was granted approval to subdivide a 1.16-acre parcel into two residential lots. The Board approved the rezoning of the property from E-R Estate Residential to R-2 Single Family Residential and granted lot width variances for both new parcels, reducing the 100-foot requirement to ±94.85 feet for Lot 1 and ±95.45 feet for Lot 2.

Integrated Physical Medicine Special Use
The Board passed an ordinance granting a Special Use Permit to IPM Real Estate, LLC, allowing for a massage establishment at 10305 and 10309 W. Lincoln Highway. The applicant will offer massage therapy services in conjunction with their existing chiropractic practice. The Plan Commission had previously approved an adjustment to allow the existing 122 parking spaces in the office park to serve the proposed business.

May Proclamations
The Board unanimously approved two proclamations recognizing the month of May. The first declared May 2026 as Historic Preservation Month, embracing the national theme “All People are Created Equal.” The second declared May as Motorcycle Awareness Month, reminding motorists to share the road responsibly and remain alert for riders to reduce accidents and fatalities.
