Frankfort Township Board Meeting | March 9, 2026

The Frankfort Township Board met on Monday, March 9, 2026, for a brief 13-minute regular meeting. Supervisor Nick George led the proceedings, which included the swift approval of highway salt purchases and administrative updates to the township’s Illinois Fund accounts. Officials also provided several updates on seasonal community services, including the upcoming branch pickup, AARP tax preparation, and progress on the new food pantry. For full details on the salt purchase, financial restructuring, and community services, please see the standalone articles.

2026 Annual Town Meeting Agenda Approved
The Board unanimously approved the agenda for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting following a motion by Trustee Hillary Kurzawa and a second by Trustee Jessica Kot. Clerk Nella Piccolin announced that she is currently putting together the town meeting and invited anyone with questions to call her. The annual meeting is scheduled for April.

Property Tax Appeals Update
Assessor Joe Kral updated the board on his recent training, noting he took the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice in Will County and will be traveling to Bloomington to complete his continuing education. Kral announced that soft appeals for property taxes begin on April 1. Addressing how long the appeals process would be allowed, Kral stated it depends heavily on Will County’s timeline. He informed the board that the process could potentially conclude by the end of June, and he hopes it will be soon enough to assist constituents if necessary.

Holiday Well Wishes
As the short meeting concluded, trustees took a moment to share holiday greetings. Trustee Dave Smith encouraged everyone to enjoy the upcoming Easter holiday with their families. Trustee Thomas Kennedy quickly followed up, humorously reminding everyone that St. Patrick’s Day comes first.
