Eighth-grade students from Hickory Creek Middle School took over Village Hall earlier in the day for the annual Student Government Day. Students toured the village administration building, fire district, police station, wastewater treatment plant, and public works facilities before enjoying a working lunch at Aurelio’s Restaurant. The day culminated in a mock Village Board meeting. Mayor Keith Ogle praised Student Mayor Olivia Antonelli, while Trustee Adam Borrelli commended Aidan Edwards for representing his seat well. Brief Title: Police Prepare for Special Olympics Polar Plunge
Members of the Frankfort Police Department are gearing up to brave the freezing waters for a good cause. Mayor Keith Ogle announced that department personnel, competing under the moniker “Team Frigid Badges,” will participate in the Manteno Polar Plunge on Saturday, March 7. The annual event raises funds in support of Special Olympics Illinois. Co-sponsored by the Village of Frankfort and the Frankfort Park District, the family-friendly event will feature a live DJ, games, and a balloon artist. Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be provided for attendees.
