The Frankfort Village Board on Monday, February 2, 2026, approved an ordinance accepting a plat of dedication for public right-of-way along Pfeiffer Road, a move intended to facilitate future infrastructure improvements.
Trustee Maura Rigoni presented the item, which involves property owned by Laraway Homes, LLC, the developer of the Country Crossing subdivision. The dedication provides the village with an additional 22 feet of right-of-way along the east side of Pfeiffer Road, south of the existing Phase 1 development.
According to village documents, the 2040 Comprehensive Plan designates this section of Pfeiffer Road as a “Minor Collector.” Village engineering standards for such roadways require a minimum total right-of-way of 66 feet.
“The original and recently amended annexation agreements require a roadway dedication to accommodate future roadway, bicycle path, and public utility improvements,” Rigoni noted.
While the existing road currently has 33 feet of right-of-way, this dedication brings the total width east of the centerline to 55 feet. Staff reports indicate this additional land is necessary specifically to accommodate a planned multi-use path connecting the area.
The Plan Commission previously reviewed the plat on January 22, 2026, and forwarded a unanimous recommendation for approval.
