(The Center Square) – Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is renewing his call for the federal government to mandate year-round sales of E15 fuel.

The governor cited a report from the Renewable Fuels Association saying a year-round requirement for the gasoline blend with up to 15% ethanol would increase demand for corn by 2 billion bushels a year.

On Monday, President Donald Trump issued an executive order directing the Environmental Protection Agency to consider issuing year-round fuel waivers for E15.
