Frankfort Township Board Meeting | December 8, 2025

Article Summary: Frankfort Township Assessor Joe Kral reported that the township’s tentative assessment factor for the coming year is expected to be 9.1. Officials noted this figure is among the lowest in Will County, where many other jurisdictions are seeing factors of 10 or higher.

Assessment Key Points:

  • Tentative Factor: The projected assessment factor for Frankfort Township is 9.1.

  • County Comparison: Assessor Joe Kral stated this is “actually one of the lowest in the County.”

  • Official Update: The data comes from the Will County Supervisor of Assessments meeting for 2026.

The Frankfort Township Board met on Monday, December 8, 2025, receiving a report on property assessments that indicates the township may see lower equalization factors than neighboring areas.

During board comments, Assessor Joe Kral briefed the officials on his recent attendance at the Will County Supervisor of Assessments meeting regarding the 2026 tax year. Kral reported that the township received its assessment books for the upcoming year and shared the preliminary figures.

“Tentatively, the factor for Frankfort Township is going to be 9.1,” Kral told the board.

Kral placed this figure in context for the township trustees, noting that Frankfort’s number compares favorably to the rest of the region. “Actually [it] is one of the lowest in the County,” Kral said. “Most of your townships are above 10 or higher in increases.”

The assessment factor, often referred to as a multiplier, is used to equalize assessments across a county to ensuring that the total value of real property is uniform at one-third of fair market value.

Senior Christmas Party:
Supervisor Nick George announced that the annual Senior Christmas party is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at CD & Me.
