He also noted that effective January 1, 2026, batteries are prohibited from household trash disposal, with new recycling options established under the Illinois Battery Stewardship Act. Financial Approvals:
Trustee Leddin presented the bills for approval, totaling $1,700,970.26. The disbursement included $446,575.82 from the General Corporate Fund, $512,796.24 from the Capital Development Fund, and significant expenditures from the water and sewer funds.
Board Comments:
Trustees used their comment time to congratulate Sergeant Thompson and Phillips Chevrolet. Trustee Petrow highlighted the paint collection program, noting local drop-off spots at Sherwin Williams and Whitmore Ace Hardware. Trustee Rigoni welcomed the new businesses, emphasizing that choosing Frankfort is “the greatest compliment” a business can give the community.
