Article Summary: The Frankfort Village Board on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, celebrated a transition within its police force, swearing in Timothy Hoak as the village’s newest officer and honoring Sergeant Mark Misek on his retirement after 26 years of service.

Police Department Key Points:

  • New Officer: Timothy Hoak, a Lockport native and Lewis University graduate, was officially sworn in as a police officer.

  • Retirement: Sergeant Mark Misek is retiring from the Frankfort Police Department to pursue a teaching career at Harper College.

  • Legacy of Service: Trustees noted that Sergeant Misek has served the village longer than Officer Hoak has been alive.

  • Incoming Personnel: The village also announced the hire of Justin Esposito, who begins duty on Dec. 29.

The Frankfort Village Board on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, highlighted the past and future of the Frankfort Police Department during its final meeting of the year.

Mayor Keith Ogle conducted a swearing-in ceremony for Officer Timothy Hoak, who was joined by his family for a formal badge pinning. Hoak, a 2020 graduate of Lockport Township High School, earned his degree in Criminal Justice from Lewis University before joining the department.

“He is committed to serving the residents of Frankfort and looks forward to contributing as a dedicated member of the department for many years to come,” Mayor Ogle said during the ceremony.

The board also paid tribute to Sergeant Mark Misek, who is retiring after more than two and a half decades with the force. Misek will transition into a teaching role at Harper College.

Trustee Michael Leddin highlighted the significance of Misek’s tenure. “Sergeant Misek was an officer in Frankfort longer than the person who was sworn in tonight has been on the planet,” Leddin noted.

The police department will continue its recruitment efforts, with the Mayor announcing that new officer Justin Esposito will report to the Police Training Institute’s Basic Law Enforcement Academy on Jan. 4, 2026.
