Overall Meeting Summary
The Frankfort Village Board met on Monday, December 1, 2025, for a meeting characterized by the approval of several new business developments and infrastructure investments. Additionally, elected officials took time to praise the Village staff, particularly the Public Works Department, for their response to a recent winter storm.

News Briefs

Public Works Praised for Snow Removal:
Mayor Keith Ogle and the Board of Trustees expressed gratitude to the Public Works Department for their efforts during a heavy snowstorm over the Thanksgiving weekend. “They came in on Friday even though that was a day off so they could get the leaves picked off before the snow came,” Mayor Ogle said. Trustee Michael Leddin added, “I had so many neighbors saying how great our streets look compared to other areas… Frankfort’s public works department is excellent.”

$520,000 in Bills Approved:
The Village Board approved the schedule of bills for December 1, 2025, totaling $520,895.04. Trustee Jessica Petrow highlighted that a significant portion of the spending went to local Frankfort businesses, including Plaza Cleaners, Cooper Oil, Currie Motors, Alsip Nursery, and the local Home Depot and Ace Hardware stores.

Holiday Events Announced:
Mayor Ogle announced upcoming holiday community events. The “Lighting of the Green” will take place on Thursday, December 4, at 6:30 p.m. at Breidert Green. The Frankfort Area Historical Society’s Candlelight House Walk is set for Friday, December 5. “Midnight Madness,” featuring late-night shopping downtown, is scheduled for Friday, December 12, followed by the “Home for the Holidays” weekend on December 13 and 14.

Meeting Schedule Change:
Clerk Katie Schubert reminded the public that the Village will transition its meeting schedule in the new year. “These are our last meetings with the two-night format,” Schubert said. Starting in January 2026, the Village will move to holding both committee and village board meetings on a single night. The final meeting of 2025 is scheduled for December 15 at 7:00 p.m.
