FRANKFORT, IL – The Frankfort Park District Board on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, signaled its intent to renegotiate a 2018 agreement for the development of a park within the Crystal Brook subdivision.

During a facility and property update, the board reviewed a memo outlining concerns about the planned park. According to meeting minutes, the primary issues are the “large size of the park, two ponds, maintenance of the paths, access to it and completion of the park.”

With the developer anxious to begin Phase 2 of the residential project, park district officials believe he is open to renegotiating the terms of the original agreement. The board reached a consensus to move forward with recommendations presented by staff to address the district’s concerns.

The district noted that its suggestions for the park have also been shared with the Village of Frankfort.
