Article Summary:
The Will County Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a special use permit for a light equipment sales and rental business, allowing a used car dealership to operate at 202 Ford Drive in New Lenox Township. The Village of New Lenox did not object to the proposal but submitted a list of five conditions for the property owner to meet.

Used Car Dealership Permit Key Points:

  • Location: 202 Ford Drive, New Lenox Township, within the Cedar Industrial Park.

  • Applicant: Michael Veugeler, agent for Chicago Land Trust #2569.

  • Business: A low-volume used car dealership, “My Auto Concepts,” expecting 3-5 customers per day.

  • Conditions: The Village of New Lenox requested conditions including repaving the parking lot, screening the outdoor storage area with a fence, and removing unused items from the site within six months.

JOLIET, IL – A used car dealership will be coming to New Lenox Township after the Will County Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, approved a special use permit for the business.

The permit allows for light equipment sales and rentals at 202 Ford Drive, an I-1 (Limited Industrial) zoned property located within the Cedar Industrial Park. The applicant, Michael Veugeler, plans to operate “My Auto Concepts,” a small dealership with one employee that anticipates serving three to five customers daily.

According to county staff reports, the business will have four designated parking spaces for used cars and three for employees. Two indoor units will provide space for up to six vehicles each.

The Village of New Lenox reviewed the case at its November 10 board meeting and voted not to object, provided the petitioner agrees to several conditions. These include repairing and repaving the parking lot, parking all displayed cars on a hard surface, paving the outdoor storage area, and screening it from public view with an eight-foot-tall fence.

During the hearing, Veugeler confirmed he was the property owner and agreed to comply with the village’s recommendations, stating that a plan to replace the parking lot in the spring was already in place.

The commission approved the special use permit with two county-mandated conditions related to site inspection and the transferability of the permit to subsequent owners.
