State EPA looks to fund EV charging stations
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the purchase and installation of new Direct Current Fast Charging EV charging stations and alternating current charging stations at publicly accessible locations in Illinois. The taxpayer funds are being made available through the Rebuild Illinois capital plan for electric vehicle projects authorized under the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA). Additional funding will also be awarded to projects at a charging station location identified as an Equity Investment Eligible Community. The Illinois EPA will begin accepting applications on Monday, Nov. 17.

The mayor said Thursday that he does not think it is unreasonable for companies with 100 or more employees to pay what he says is “their fair share.”
