The Frankfort Park District is moving forward with its master planning process by soliciting direct feedback from the community’s largest user groups. At a committee meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the board received an update on outreach efforts related to its Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) grant.
Tod from Design Perspectives, a consulting firm, is leading meetings with the district’s affiliate sports groups, including organizations for Football, Boys’ Baseball, Girls’ Baseball, and Soccer. The purpose of the meetings is to educate the groups on the scope and possibilities of the state grant and to gather their feedback on what improvements and facilities they need most.
The discussions are part of the formal design process. One idea that has already emerged is the potential for moving the Dog Park. Additionally, one group has already requested a third field, along with parking, storage, and concessions.
The consultant is aiming to gather all necessary information by January to finalize the plans for using the DCEO funds.
