Village of Frankfort Board Meeting | October 20, 2025

Article Summary: The Frankfort Village Board authorized the purchase of a new 2026 Ford F-450 dump truck for an amount not to exceed $108,830. The board also approved the sale of four surplus vehicles, including the 2011 truck being replaced, a van, and two sedans.

Vehicle Purchases and Sales Key Points:

  • A 2026 Ford F-450 chassis will be purchased from Currie Motors Ford of Frankfort for $67,800.

  • Monroe Truck Equipment will be paid $41,030 to install a new snowplow and transfer the dump body from the old truck to the new one.

  • Four surplus vehicles, including a 2001 Ford van, a 2005 Honda Civic, and a 2005 Nissan Sentra, will be sold via public auction.

The Frankfort Village Board on Monday, October 20, 2025, approved the purchase of a new dump truck for the Utilities Department and declared four old vehicles as surplus to be sold at auction.

The board authorized spending up to $108,830 for a 2026 Ford F-450 4×4 truck and associated equipment. The new vehicle will replace a 2011 model with declining reliability. According to a village memo, the department will save approximately $20,000 and reduce lead time by five months by reusing the stainless-steel dump bed from the old truck, which remains in excellent condition.

The purchase includes a $67,800 government-discounted price from Currie Motors Ford of Frankfort for the truck chassis. Monroe Truck Equipment will handle the upfitting, which includes transferring the existing dump body and installing a new snowplow and hydraulics package, for $41,030.

In a separate but related item, the board authorized the disposal of several surplus vehicles due to mechanical issues. The list includes the 2011 Ford F-450 chassis being replaced, a 2001 Ford E-350 van, a 2005 Honda Civic, and a 2005 Nissan Sentra. All vehicles will be sold through public auction.
