Pritzker praises credit upgrade

Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded Illinois’ credit rating to A2 for the state’s general obligation bonds.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker celebrated the news, saying it reflected the state’s continued commitment to growing the economy and maintaining fiscal stability.

News of the upgrade comes exactly one month after Pritzker ordered state agencies to identify efficiencies and reductions.

Cook County approves $20M quantum grant

The Cook County Board of Commissioners have approved a $20 million grant to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees to fund costs associated with the purchase and installation of a cryogenic facility at PsiQuantum, the anchor tenant of the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park.

PsiQuantum has received hundreds of millions of dollars in tax incentives from Illinois, Cook County and city of Chicago governments.
