The Frankfort Township Board on Monday, July 14, 2025, primarily focused on zoning matters, unanimously denying special use permits for two businesses, Dimitri Best Food and Kismet Restaurant, that sought liquor licenses with the intent to add video gaming. However, the board approved two residential requests for a shed variance and an accessibility-related home expansion. A full story on the zoning decisions is available.
The board also heard from Highway Commissioner Bill Carlson, who provided an update on the department’s recent acquisition of new equipment, including leaf vacuums and a woodchipper, to replace machinery that is up to 20 years old. More details on the highway department’s upgrades can be found in a separate article.
