  • Supervisor Nick George confirmed the township budget is balanced and covers all necessary programs and obligations.

  • The township budget was approved on a 4-0-1 vote, with Trustee Hillary Kurzawa abstaining, while the highway budget passed unanimously.

The Frankfort Town (Township) Board on Monday, June 9, 2025, formally adopted its annual budgets, approving separate appropriation ordinances for the township and the highway department for the new fiscal year. The votes followed public hearings on both budgets held earlier in the evening.

Supervisor Nick George stated that the township budget meets all the township’s needs for its various programs and obligations and is balanced. Following his remarks, the board voted on Township Budget Appropriation Ordinance #0609-25. The motion to approve, made by Trustee Jessica Kot and seconded by Trustee Dave Smith, passed on a 4-0 roll call vote with one abstention. Trustees Smith, Kot, and Thomas Kennedy, along with Supervisor George, voted in favor. Trustee Hillary Kurzawa abstained.

The board then moved to approve the Highway Budget Appropriation Ordinance #060925. Supervisor George asked if there were any questions or need for discussion on the highway budget, and there were none. A motion by Trustee Kennedy, seconded by Trustee Kurzawa, to approve the highway budget passed with unanimous support. A roll call vote confirmed that all four trustees and Supervisor George voted aye.

The adoption of these budgets is a critical annual responsibility for the township, establishing the legal authority for all expenditures for the coming year. Other business conducted at the meeting included approving the bill list for the month and the minutes from the May 19, 2025, meeting.
