Bond Refinancing Advances: Finance Committee approved an ordinance authorizing up to $200.8 million in bond refinancing that could save taxpayers more than $716,000. The measure moves to the full County Board for July 17 consideration.

Budget Performance Update: County corporate fund shows $58.3 million in revenue through May, representing 21.3% of annual budget, while expenses total $117.8 million or 43% of budget. Property tax receipts remain low at 2.8% pending June distribution.

Grant Appropriations Approved: Committee approved several grant appropriations including $4,386 from Lurie Children’s Hospital for coroner services to families impacted by child deaths, and $100,000 from Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

Stipend Payments Authorized: County will distribute $26,000 in state stipend payments to elected officials, with $6,500 each going to the auditor, coroner, sheriff, and treasurer positions.

Equipment Disposal Authorized: Committee approved declaring surplus various county vehicles and equipment for competitive bidding disposal, including a 10-year-old customized recreation vehicle from Workforce Services.

Enterprise Zone Fees: Land Use Department received authorization to appropriate $33,582 in enterprise zone fees for professional dues and memberships to support community development events.

Tax Certificate Assignment: Committee approved assignment of tax sale certificate 23-01255 for property in district 30-07-10-403-011-0000 as part of routine property tax collection processes.
