The $1,596,116.16 contract was awarded to “D” Construction, Inc., out of Coal City, which submitted the lowest qualified bid during the February 18 letting. The project will be funded through a combination of the Road District’s allotment of Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds and County Bridge Tax funds.

According to the project summary provided in the agenda packet, the scope of work consists of the complete removal of the existing bridge structure. The project also entails installing new full-depth hot-mix asphalt pavement approaching the bridge, reconstructing the aggregate approach chip and seal north of the bridge, and adding new aggregate shoulders, guardrails, and riprap.
The road will be completely closed during the construction period. Work is estimated to begin in April 2026, with an estimated completion date of September 25, 2026.
