The Frankfort Public Library District Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Tuesday, where its primary actions were to fill a board vacancy and conduct an orientation for its new members. The meeting included an executive session to discuss candidates for the open seat.

Brooks Stenoish Appointed to Fill Board Vacancy: The board unanimously appointed former trustee Brooks Stenoish to fill a vacant two-year seat. The decision was made following a 36-minute closed-door session to discuss candidates. Stenoish recently completed a term on the board, and her return brings a measure of experience to a board that welcomed five new members in May.

New Board Members Undergo Orientation: With a new member appointed, the board participated in a comprehensive orientation session. Led by the board president and senior library staff, the training focused on key governance topics, including the legal and fiduciary duties of a trustee, library funding, district responsibilities, and library law. The orientation concluded with a tour of the library.
